Pathétique

  • Nynorskens hus 8 Rosenkrantz' gate Oslo, Oslo, 0159 Norway (map)

How do a composer’s ideas take shape? The young and distinctive pianist Nikita Khnykin opens with an early Sonatina, before the internationally acclaimed Dénes Várjon shows how some of the same ideas acquire far greater dramatic force in the groundbreaking Pathétique Sonata. Between the two piano works, the Engegård Quartet performs String Quartet No. 5, Op. 18 No. 5.
