Concert lecture

  • Nynorskens hus 8 Rosenkrantz' gate Oslo, Oslo, 0159 Norway (map)

Why did Beethoven call the final movement of his sixth string quartet La Malinconia — melancholy? Together with Wolfgang Plagge, we explore a side of the young Beethoven that already points towards the existential questions that would shape the rest of his life and music.

Wolfgang Plagge talks about the Heiligenstadt Testament and La Malinconia, which the Engegård Quartet will illustrate.

The Engegård Quartet will then perform the complete String Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 18 No. 6.
